Xmas Shoes for all the Children, from Waddesden Village SchoolHi everyone, just thought that we would give you an update on the current situation at Bafuloto.

We have been inundated with children wanting to go to our school and our present number is 75. The villagers have built a temporary classroom next to the proper one for the overflow.

We have decided to formulate a two year plan and to help us we have recruited a professional fundraiser. The idea is that within two years we want to build another 2 classroom building to take the extra pupils and to have 50 more desks and chairs made by the local carpenter together with blackboards and a desk and chair for the office. In our original plan we wanted to provide solar panels for the building to allow the school and the village to have electricity. This we will incorporate in the 2 year plan together with the installation of fresh water on to the school site.

We estimate a total cost of approx £25,000, and if anyone would like to hold any fund raising events such as coffee mornings etc, to help us, we would be very grateful. We would also welcome any donations you might be able to provide.

We have a staff of a headmaster, 3 teachers an administrator and a cleaner at the moment and on completion of the extra classrooms a further teacher will be required. The cost of this is also calculated within the £25,000.

Thanks to those who are supporting us!

Janet & John Mason
